Wellspring Volunteer of the Year Award Recipient: Faridah Abdullah

It’s individuals like Faridah Abdullah who ensure organizations like Wellspring remain successful.

Coming to Wellspring Family Services in 2008 after retiring from her work at World Relief in downtown Seattle, Faridah immediately became a critical component to our Development team. Volunteering at the past six Powerful Change Luncheons, taking work home with her, managing email lists and development databases; Faridah does it all and does it with an infectious charm that immediately lights up the office.

After six years of selfless hard work and dedication, Faridah knows better than anyone how to successfully keep a nonprofit organization running. Each week, she consistently busses across the city to our Rainier Avenue office to perform an impressively diverse task load and to guarantee our organization continues to grow and succeed.

Her commitment and enthusiasm for Wellspring is obvious as she emphasizes, “I don’t want to be left around just watching things. I want to be a participant until the last day of my breath.”

We are honored to formally recognize Faridah for her contributions to our organization and for her incredible attitude towards hard work and philanthropy. As she explains, “I am very, very happy at my age to be able to contribute and make an agency like Wellspring successful in their mission. This is where I want to be.”

For her commitment to Wellspring and to our community at large, we are thrilled to present Faridah with the 2013 Volunteer of the Year Award. Thank you, Faridah!
