Life Transitions
Meaning & Existence
Midlife & Aging

I offer therapy to individuals who are struggling with mental or emotional difficulties and seek a safe therapeutic relationship in which to explore and resolve those difficulties. My work is with older adolescents, adults, and elders who are experiencing depression and anxiety; who struggle in their current relationships or with past traumas; who are facing complex life transitions or living with grief and loss; who feel dissatisfied or alienated and long for a more effective, creative, or meaningful life.

In your first appointment, you have the opportunity to discuss what led you to seek therapy and what you hope to achieve, to ask any questions, and to get a feeling for how I work and whether you would wish to continue seeing me. My commitment is to listen carefully to what you tell me, offering my thoughts and observations as a means to facilitate our mutual awareness and understanding of your difficulties. I view the therapeutic process as collaborative, one in which you and I work together to identify and engage what is honest and true to your experience in a way that understanding, healing, and change can occur.

In addition to extensive training in psychodynamic therapy and psychoanalysis, I have a long time practice of meditation, incorporating what I consider an important mind-body-spirit perspective to my work.

If you would like to meet with me to discuss whether I could be helpful to you, please call 206-524-9055 to arrange an appointment.
