Everyone experiences life events and transitions that are difficult to navigate without the support of a skilled listener. I believe that within a collaborative relationship, you can achieve true life change. I work within a psychodynamic perspective to identify the experiences, beliefs, and behaviors contributing to your emotional distress. We will work together to learn new coping strategies, increase self-awareness, and improve your well-being and relationships.
My background includes over 20 years of experience working with adults, couples, and parent-infant pairs from diverse backgrounds. No single approach can work for all needs. I have experience and training in a variety of methods aimed at strengthening relationships and coping with life’s challenges, including certification as a Gottman educator and Emotion-Focused Therapy for couples.
I have a passion for working with individuals and couples as they make the transition to parenthood, including mothers who are struggling with pregnancy and/or postpartum issues, and attachment issues during infancy/toddlerhood.
During your first appointment, you will be invited to discuss what led you to therapy and how you feel I can best help you achieve your goals. I will answer any questions you have about the therapeutic process and offer my thoughts on how I can be of help to you. Together, we will develop a plan for moving forward that best suits your needs.
