Including Wellspring in your will is a common and straight-forward way to make a planned gift

In most cases, bequests are exempt from state inheritance tax.

Bequests can be:

  • A fixed sum of money
  • A percentage of your estate
  • One or more particular assets, such as shares of stocks

If you already have a will

Rewriting is not necessary. Washington State law allows for a written addendum to include your charitable bequest. Talk to your estate planning attorney about putting this in place.

Examples of Bequest Language

You are welcome to offer the following bequest language sample to your estate planning attorney for consideration:

I give and devise to Wellspring Family Services, Seattle, Washington, the sum of $______ (or ____% of estate) to be used by the organization (or designated to the program of your choice) without further restriction.

Legal Name: Wellspring Family Services
Legal Address: 1900 Rainier Ave S., Seattle, WA 98144
Tax Identification Number: 91-0567261
