Welcome! You’ve just made a bold move: allowing yourself to consider therapy. As most of us are raised to be self-sufficient problem solvers, this is often not an easy thing to do. You might be dealing with a challenging situation, feeling stuck, or sensing the need for a change that feels overwhelmingly difficult. I appreciate that you’re checking out my practice for a potential collaboration to overcome the challenge.
My goal as a therapist is to help people live fuller lives. Therapy is no magic that removes problems in an instant, but it is my intention to support you through a transformative journey of developing awareness and gaining better control over your life. You may not realize today how much power you have. My job is to help you discover your strengths and opportunities, and develop your internal resources to make the changes you aim for.
I work with the belief that there are reasons why we do things the way we do. It is likely past experience, often traumatic, that is behind our problematic patterns of feeling, behaviors, and thoughts. This is generally categorized as the psychodynamic orientation in therapy. I also utilize a variety of evidence-based therapy techniques and best practices, including Cognitive and Dialectical Behavior Therapy, Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing, Internal Family Systems, Motivational Interviewing, Neuropsychotherapy, and Mindfulness. I will offer what I believe is the best fit based on careful consideration of your unique situation and my extensive experience working with diverse clients and issues.
I work with adult individuals and couples of all backgrounds. Please call (206) 524-9055 if you have questions or you want to make a first appointment.
