Urgent Action Needed: Stop SB 5752 in the House

Since our last visit to the Capitol, Early ECEAP has been put on the chopping block. On March 12, 2025, the Senate passed SB 5752, a bill that completely eliminates Early ECEAP, Washington’s only early intervention program for infants and toddlers from low-income families. Now, the fight moves to the House of Representatives—and we need your voice more than ever.

What’s at Stake?

If SB 5752 becomes law, thousands of vulnerable families will lose access to:

  • Health screenings to detect developmental delays early
  • Home visiting programs that provide parenting education and support
  • Nutrition, mental health, and wraparound services that stabilize families
  • A pathway out of poverty for families who don’t qualify for other programs

Early ECEAP is not childcare—it’s a lifeline. Without it, families who don’t qualify for Working Connections Child Care (WCCC) or Early Head Start will be left with no support at all.

We Still Have Time to Stop This Bill!

SB 5752 is now in the House of Representatives, where legislators have the power to reject it. The House Early Learning & Human Services Committee will be reviewing the bill soon, and we need to flood them with messages urging them to vote NO.

Take Action Now: Tell Your Representative to Vote NO on SB 5752
